How is the breast reduction surgery performed?

Breast reduction surgery is a reconstructive surgery, and it is performed under general anesthesia. It takes approximately 45-50 minutes. We should determine the surgery technique, the amount of tissue which should be taken, the age of patient, and if the patient is planning to give a birth. If the patient is thinking to give a birth  incision should be done between the nipple and the breast gland. However, for very large size of breasts, it may be necessary to fix  the breast gland. In such cases, the patient should be definitely informed and accept it.

What You Should know After Breast Reduction Surgery?

During the recovery period, all medications prescribed by your doctor should be used completely and  regularly. A different drug should not be taken, if you want to take, need to ask your doctor.

You can return to your social life within 3-4 days after the surgery. But you should avoid exercise and hard work for 1 month. During the healing process healthy food is important. It is recommended to stay away from smoking and alcohol.
